Homemade workout sandbags, part 2
A couple of months ago I told you how to make your own exercise sandbags using a truck inner tube. Now I will tell you a second way to use the truck inner tube for making your own sandbag. This time you will not cut the inner tube, but you will use the entire inner tube. This calls for a smaller inner tube. You can even use car, bicycle, or motorcycle inner tubes.
This time use a smaller one, probably 10" wide. This time do not cut it. Get an air/water adapter kit from Slime (.com) or one of their retailers. This handy tool will connect a truck inner tube's valve stem to a garden hose. Fill the entire inner tube to about halfway full using the adapter. Put the cap on to hold the water in. An aluminum valve cap will help hold the water in. This way of filling the tube with water creates a super-slinky water bag that is very hard to lift and move. The water sloshes about, creating lots of resistance. You can also use a smaller inner tube, such as for a small car or motorcycle, and fill it about halfway, and drape it over your shoulders and use it as a workout vest! You can walk, climb stairs or stadiums, do pullups, pushups, dips, squats, lunges, and more with it. So there are your tools. Let me know how you like this idea. See our Workout Sandbags here.
